The Nest

As its name suggests, this home is perched high on a bluff overlooking Edgartown Harbor. A family retreat reminiscent of a European hilltop village, the main house connects to outbuildings, pool, and private dock below through a series of rustic foot paths, gardens, and landscape features. Details within and without were designed to highlight the organic shapes and textures of natural materials, perhaps most notably in the home’s outdoor pool grotto and in its living room fireplace, which appears to have been pieced together from twigs, pebbles, and branches gathered from the surrounding woods.
