West Bend Point

This significant renovation was the fulfillment of a longtime dream for a client who had fond childhood memories of vacations spent on an idyllic and historic Cape Cod enclave, tucked away from tourists and traffic. Details from the original cottage, such as angled hip dormers, a turret on the water-facing facade, and an unusual shingled rake board, were incorporated into a more boldly scaled plan that features a family-sized kitchen, and open living areas suitable for entertaining. A new two-story carriage house, pool house, and boat house were also added. From the hidden rooftop shower to an exercise room which opens to a gracious pool patio, and a wraparound deck connecting the main house to an outdoor living room complete with fireplace terrace, the design connects indoors and outdoors at every level.
