Fairfield County’s rocky terrain and famous underground stone formations were integral to the design for this Connecticut home. Large outcroppings of stone unearthed during excavation were harvested to create focal points including a distinctive ledgestone wall and masonry features throughout the property. Gabled stone facades bookend a private entry courtyard which is animated at night through a two-sided fireplace in the front stone wall. The home also features an impressive stone cooking pavilion inspired by the South American tradition of open flame cooking, which anchors the outdoor living spaces and provides a much-used gathering spot adjacent to the pool.
