Hutker Architects is seeking skilled licensed Architects or non-registered Designers in our Martha’s Vineyard, Plymouth, and Falmouth office locations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact alongside the Senior Project Management team on high-profile projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience and take on increasing responsibilities as you grow. The primary focus will be to contribute across all stages of the development process—from initial design through to construction—ensuring each project meets the highest standards and making a tangible difference in its execution.
Responsibilities and Duties:
– Contribute to project design development, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and presentation packages
– Collaborate with the Principal-in-charge, Team Leader, and project team to establish design objectives, shape the project vision, and support the design process
– Provide project updates based on client feedback, ensuring structural and building code compliance
– Prepare working drawings for private residences and acquire measurements to produce existing conditions drawings
– Gain proficiency in wood frame construction and structural requirements
– Assist in developing project design criteria, schedules, and managing project timelines
– Update CAD drawings (plans, elevations, sections) based on redlines and client feedback
– Create architectural models using manual methods and 3D CAD software
– Participate in client meetings and construction observation/site visits as needed
Qualifications:
– 1-5 years of strong residential design experience and technical development
– Strong understanding of all phases of architectural design development
– Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited program
– A genuine passion for residential architecture and a desire to specialize in this field
– Experience with producing production documents and building code compliance
– Strong design and graphic presentation skills with proficiency in CAD, Revit, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office applications
– Ability to produce both manual and digital 3-D models
– Strong multitasking abilities, attention to details, and excellent communication skills
– Must be able to work from our Vineyard Haven, Falmouth or Plymouth office at least 3 days per week

Hutker Architects, Inc. seeks a dynamic individual to assist the Marketing Director. This position fills a key role on the marketing team requiring creative energy, a passion for design, and proactive project coordination. The Marketing Communications Specialist performs a variety of roles that enhance the marketing, public relations, and business development operations of the firm. This interdisciplinary role blends graphic design and content creation with interior styling, client service, and team building.
Responsibilities:
Planning & Content Creation:
> Plan, compile, and format content for a variety of visual presentations, including advertising and client presentations.
> Steward the firm’s image databases and maintain brand identity standards.
Branding & Advertising:
> Create and review marketing materials (print ads, postcards, e-blasts, brochures).
> Coordinate high-level brand placement through sponsorships and partnerships with affiliates and nonprofits.
Awards & Recognition:
> Manage award submissions, content development, and presentation materials for design competitions.
Digital Marketing:
> Oversee HA’s website, blog, and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
> Develop and maintain editorial calendar with dynamic written and visual content through Hootsuite, monitor and respond to industry trends, and celebrate HA design projects, staff achievements and press coverage.
> Create weekly, thematic Instagram stories as well as be prepared to gather new content that celebrates the firm’s design process, creative culture, and individual achievements.
> Monitor Google analytics and SEO optimization in conjunction with HA’s IT partners, while maintaining brand standards and adherence to social media policy.
Photography:
> Plan and coordinate annual photoshoots, including interior styling, prop acquisition, and art placement.
> Maintain HA’s photo database and manage image editing, resizing, and sharing.
Events:
> Plan and coordinate internal events and represent HA at industry events (travel and evening work is required).
Publications & Media:
> Assist with image curation for press and maintain publicity archives.
> Work with editors and book agents to secure media coverage and collaborate according to publication deadlines.
Client Experience and Employee Experience (CX/EX) Support:
> Support efforts in developing and expanding our strategy for internal (EX) and external (CX) experience.
> Assist in the development and execution of communication campaigns, client gifts, feedback surveys, and demographic research.
Administrative:
> Prepare presentations, mailers, and brochures, and manage the marketing calendar.
> Schedule meetings, assist with travel arrangements, record meeting notes.
Job Requirements:
– BA or BS in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing designs, marketing materials, and/or proposal visuals for a professional services firm
– Visual thinker with a passion for design and communication; written and verbal
– Advanced in Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, InDesign)
– Advanced with MS Office
– Advanced with WordPress and Hootsuite or other social media platforms
– Strong organizational and time-management skills.
– Discreet and comfortable managing confidential information
– Self-motivated and detail-oriented
– Ability to travel up to 40% during peak periods
