We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Project Manager with 10+ years of previous residential project management experience. This position will lead projects, report to the studio leadership, and manage intermediate and junior designers. The ideal candidate will have thorough architectural training, although they do not need to be licensed. This person will have the opportunity to work directly with our Founding Partner as well as other Principals and be involved in both decision-making and client interface. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership and project management skills, demonstrated business development success, and confident presentation skills.

Position Summary
The Interior Design Assistant will provide support to the Design Team across the development and execution of projects as necessary from vision to installation, including programming, space planning, construction documentation, purchasing proposals, tracking of furniture, and finish selections and specifications. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position.
Responsibilities and Duties
– Work closely with the Lead Designers/Project Managers assisting with all phases of the design process from concept to installation.
– Create compelling client presentations communicating design intent through mood boards, organized room schemes, and other visuals in keeping with graphic standards.
– Draft furniture plans, elevations, and details (i.e. fixture specifications) as required.
– Review and understand drawings prepared by architectural team and ensure project specifications are completely coordinated.
– Attend design presentation meetings with clients and coordinate project meetings with consultants, contractors, and vendors as appropriate.
– Employ software such as Revit, SketchUp, and Podium to create models for interior spaces as well as individual fixtures, furnishings, and details.
– Create studies and design details for custom furniture.
– Assist in creating and maintaining budgets.
– Research and assist in the selection of furnishings, finishes, textiles, accessories, and lighting, integrating these with architectural volumes and finishes to ensure a cohesive concept.
– Communicate with vendors during the sampling, proposal, purchasing, and tracking phases of projects. As necessary, assist in expediting orders.
– Maintain logs, records, and communication documents to track the progress of projects.
– Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
The Interior Design Assistant must possess the following qualifications:
– Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a related design discipline.
– Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture preferred.
– NCIDQ Certification or the desire to pursue certification preferred.
– Possess a strong understanding of design principles and standards of architecture & interior design.
– Qualified individuals must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centered approach to service delivery.
– Demonstrated design ability, with an emphasis on residential design.
– Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, Podium, CAD and Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.
– Possess excellent verbal, written and graphic presentation skills.
– Intuitive team player with strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
– Valid U.S. driver’s license.
