Ryan Alcaidinho
Principal

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He joined Hutker Architects in 2010, with previous experience in landscape design and luxury retail. Ryan is known for his natural eye for detail and innate ability to analyze visual information quickly. His outstanding computer graphics skills allow him to deftly navigate and communicate scheduling project requirements with internal and external teams. In project management, he consistently goes above and beyond role requirements, managing multiple projects and deadlines, while developing solutions that advance the design of each project. Ryan was recognized in 2019 as an ‘Industry Rising Star’ by the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) for his talent, mentorship, and collaborative spirit within the firm.

A trusted brand ambassador at industry events, Ryan was named as a “5 Under 40” winner by New England Home magazine in 2023 and was an integral part in establishing our Boston Studio location. He has played an essential role in leading our Boston team while simultaneously growing a reputable presence in the city.

Acadia Alden
Designer

Acadia holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Northeastern University, and maintains a broad range of creative skills that have influenced her design career. A previous designer-in-training and coordinator for William Rawn Associates in Boston, she is experienced in model building, material coordinating, and wood working, and brings a collaborative and professional attitude to her work. Proficient in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe products, Acadia also has experience in cognitive research, sculpture, and painting.

Robert Aryee
Designer

Robert Aryee received his bachelor of science and his master of architecture from Norwich University. A documentation specialist with an eye for detail, Robert has worked on both residential and commercial spaces, bringing him a thorough understanding of the connections between architectural, structural, and mechanical design. He is skilled at digital drawing and brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to projects large and small.

Emily Avakian
HR & Project Coordinator

Emily received her ­Bachelor of Arts from Fairfield University. Her can-do approach and background in human resources have made her an indispensable addition to Hutker Architects. Kind and conscientious, Emily performs a wide variety of tasks on a day-to-day basis.  Her aptitudes for organization, communication, and prioritization are displayed daily as she takes on the role of HR & Project Coordinator in our Martha’s Vineyard office.

Emily lives in West Tisbury with her husband and son.

Julie Bangert
Principal

Julie received her bachelor of art from Davidson College. A writer and editor with more than ten years’ experience in brand development, she previously directed sales and marketing for a nationally recognized fine art gallery and worked as a grant-writer and major gifts officer in the non-profit world. As Principal, she oversees the firm’s interior design team, helping to distill the firm’s unique design narrative for audiences around the country. Since joining the team in 2014, she has contributed significantly to Hutker Architects’ latest book and guided the re-design of the firm’s new branding and website.

Anthony Bené, AIA
Senior Designer

Anthony Bené received his bachelor of art and master of architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Tony’s attention to detail and gift for communication make him a skilled presenter. Whether coordinating between multiple projects or creating quality drawings under tight deadlines, he manages information successfully and is adept at producing both digital and hand renderings.  Hands-on knowledge of carpentry informs Tony’s design work, as well as his community efforts volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Whitney Bickford
Office Administrator

Whitney earned her Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University. She serves a critical role at the Plymouth location of Hutker Architects, providing administrative and project support for the team. Whitney is well-versed in the unique South Shore/Boston area and is an asset to the planning and execution of project-related tasks.

Whitney’s attention to detail, organizational systems, and time management skills, make her a valuable addition to both our Plymouth and Boston offices as they continue to grow.

Michael Black
Designer

Michael Black earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. He is a skilled digital draftsman and problem solver who helps bring designs to life with accurate dimensions and details. He completed two internships at Hutker Architects during his undergraduate study before joining our team full time in 2019.

Laura Brooks, AIA
Senior Designer

Laura Brooks received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her Master of Architecture from Roger Williams University. Laura is a skilled draftsperson with detailed knowledge of digital design and documentation processes. Prior studies of art history and landscape design lend a holistic approach to her design projects. Her ability to balance a demanding workload while conquering new levels of responsibility all with a composed steadiness is an invaluable addition to the team. Laura is a key member of several leadership teams in the office, including the ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Employee Experience’ committees, demonstrating her positive contributions to the growth and development of our office culture.

Jim Cappuccino, AIA
Partner

A Massachusetts native, Jim Cappuccino received his Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University. Half of Jim’s career has roots in Wyoming, where he spent several years with a prominent residential design firm in the western mountain region. His work there garnered numerous design awards and editorial coverage. In 2005, Jim returned east to join Hutker Architects and became a partner in 2018.

Jim believes in creating architecture that celebrates its context, interpreting regional vernacular with designs that are both modern and timeless. His work reflects a sensitive appreciation for each project’s unique locality and character. As a leader at Hutker, Jim fosters a collaborative design environment, models firm standards for client service, and serves as a mentor within the firm.

In 2023, Jim was inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame, a distinction recognizing his many accomplishments over the years. Jim has also been a member of the Leaders of Design since 2018 and currently serves on its Cabinet.

Licensed in Wyoming (WY), Massachusetts (MA), Maine (ME), Vermont (VT), New Hampshire (NH), and New York (NY), Jim continues to provide expertise across a range of locations. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Boston Society of Architects (BSA).

When he’s not in the studio, you may often find Jim traveling—exploring Japan, Israel, and Europe, among other destinations—soaking up inspiration to share with his team and clients.

Holly Charbonnier
Marketing Director

Holly received her Bachelor of Art from Simmons College. Fascinated with the world of advertising and design, she began working as a brand manager for a large agency, handling fashion accounts. Shortly after, she had a career-defining detour that introduced her to the world of architecture; she has led the marketing efforts for several large design firms in both New York and Boston prior to joining our team.

Holly enjoys crafting campaigns that resonate and captivate across multiple channels. As Hutker’s marketing director, Holly is the driving force behind HA’s market positioning, developing, and executing comprehensive strategies that enhance the firm’s visibility, and attracting new clients.

Holly lives in Needham with her husband, Paul, their two children, and two Boston Terriers. Committed to building a thriving community, she is a member of both Needham’s Town Meeting and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Karen Chesney
Associate

Karen Chesney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Kean University. Karen has a diverse interiors background with experience ranging from client presentations and purchasing to coordinating installations, Karen brings a balance of creativity and organization to every project.

Matthew Cramer, AIA
Principal

Matthew received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previous experience in Pennsylvania, New York, and New England exposed Matt to a wide range of project types – from custom residential and mixed-use development to hotels and equestrian facilities. He began working with Hutker Architects in 2004 and has become a firm leader in project management, known for his superior ability to interpret technical information, deftly navigating complex projects within the fast-changing parameters of building codes, zoning bylaws, and permitting processes. He is a talented designer with a particular passion for team building and construction phase services.

In addition to his project work, Matt also serves as a mentor for our design team. He is staff manager for our 25 person Martha’s Vineyard office, where he leads out on new employee recruitment as well as daily staffing coordination. Highly organized and passionate for process, Matt excels at project delivery and risk management and is our “go-to” person for office standards and best practices, consistently evolving our project management platforms and systems.

Matt’s work has been featured in Country Home, Ocean Home, and New England Home magazines. He has a deep appreciation for living in a coastal community, and brings this sensitivity to his design projects, as well as his philanthropic work; he has served on the board of SAIL MV and currently volunteers as Vice Chairman of the Cottage City Historic District Commission

John A. DiSalvo, AIA
Senior Designer

John A. DiSalvo earned his Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design following his undergraduate studies at Boston University. John’s interest in innovation and background in luxury housing contribute greatly to the HA team. His extensive knowledge of design software, model building, and hand sketching has given him the skills and credentials to educate students at MIT, Rhode Island School of Design, and New York City College of Technology. John is currently teaching part-time at the Boston Architectural College.

Christian Donato, AIA
Senior Designer

Christian Donato received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and both his Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Building Construction and Science Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Christian assists project teams with all aspects of the architectural design process from project development and client presentations, to construction documents, 3D modeling and drafting, and research.

Eric Dori, AIA
Senior Associate

Eric Dori received his Bachelor of Art in Architectural Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and his Master of Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology. A licensed architect with significant field experience, Eric brings a strong understanding of residential construction and management processes to his design work.

Sean Dougherty
Principal, LEED AP for Homes

Sean received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from Northeastern University. Since joining Hutker Architects in 2007, Sean has become a leader in the firm’s sustainability efforts and was the first staff member to become accredited as a LEED AP for Homes with the U.S. Green Building Council. An experienced project manager, Sean blends a strong appreciation for architecture, with a sensitive understanding of context – he is able to navigate the influence of regional vernacular with the need for sustainable building practices and has been instrumental in the design, management, and completion of multiple LEED for Homes certified projects on Martha’s Vineyard, as well as the firm’s first Certified Passive House in 2017

As a key member of Hutker Architects’ Stewardship, Energy and Technology (S.E.T.) Team, he has guided our team in coordinating projects that comply with the firm’s design & sustainability goals.

Sean lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Adrianne and their daughters.

Gregory Ehrman, AIA
Partner

Greg received both his Bachelor of Art and Master of Architecture from Northeastern University. His passion for innovative design and the building sciences has pushed the firm forward with a number of award-winning, energy-positive buildings that are both high-performing and in harmony with the vernacular architecture of coastal New England. Since joining the firm in 2000, Greg has been an energetic advocate for clients throughout the construction process and has been influential in creating new energy benchmarks within the firm. He was central in the development of Hutker’s first “passive house,” a zero net energy building on Martha’s Vineyard. In recognition of his exceptional work, Greg received one of New England Home magazine’s 5 Under 40 awards in 2014.

Greg also lends his energy and imagination to his community. He spearheaded a design and fundraising campaign for the Niantic Park Playground which is in the Cottage City Historic District of Oak Bluffs, is a founding member and former vice president of the Martha’s Vineyard Builders Association, and serves as a board member for the Vineyard Montessori School.

Greg lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Holly and their two daughters.

Zach Fields
Designer

Zach joins Hutker Architects equipped with a Bachelor of Environmental Science from SUNY ESF and a Master of Architecture from the University at Buffalo, SUNY.  Although initially inspired to pursue pharmaceutical sciences for an eventual pre-med path, Zach’s interest in and passion for architecture combines his love of design with the science of creating a better future both socially and environmentally. As his undergraduate studies suggest, Zach brings a special interest in sustainable design to Hutker Architects, allowing him to approach projects with consideration for LEED, WELL, Passive House, and the ways in which sustainability can seamlessly mesh into the daily lifestyle of a home’s occupants.

Originally from upstate New York, Zach moved to Boston in September of 2020, citing the diverse landscapes and towns within New England as an influential draw. His creative endeavors extend beyond architecture, learning the art of glass blowing upon moving to Massachusetts, and continuing to hone the craft in his free time.

Jonathan Fox, AIA
Associate

Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture at Roger Williams University. Before joining Hutker Architects in 2010, Jonathan apprenticed a Master Carpenter, providing valuable insight into the building trades that informs both his design projects and construction management work. In the office, he is highly skilled at AutoCAD, SketchUp, SU Podium Rendering, Photoshop, and InDesign, and he is centrally involved in the implementation of HA’s software and IT infrastructure. Jonathan is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.

Kathryn Fuller
Director of Operations

Kathryn received her MBA from Bentley University and has worked for many years in the non-profit sector, most recently as the Director of Development and the Director of Operations and Business Development for two notable non-profits on Martha’s Vineyard. Katy has experience leading strategic planning efforts, overseeing fundraising initiatives, and leading out on the strengthening of Board governance. Having worn many hats, Katy knows how to juggle multiple projects at one time, while also prioritizing more critical tasks on a daily basis. She has experience managing various staff members and volunteers, and also brings a great combination of committee and advisory role experiences to the table.

Weston Halkyard
Senior Designer

Weston Halkyard received his bachelor of architecture from Syracuse University. Study abroad in Florence Italy, along with a background in stone masonry, granted Weston an interest in and an understanding for both classical design concepts and intrinsic material integration. Particularly detail oriented, he excels in conceptualizing spatial quality and organization, material specifications, 3-D visuals and rendering.

Ally Hess
Designer

Ally received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from Roger Williams University, complemented by the studies of Sustainability and History of Art and Architecture during her undergraduate experience. Ally’s upbringing in Germany and her extensive travel experiences lead to substantial exposure and a consequential appreciation for incredible architecture from a young age.

As illustrated by her minor, Ally’s interests lay in sustainable design that focuses on the human experience as well as the study of site and environment. Her passion for design earned her multiple Roger Williams University accolades, including an Architecture Freshman Design Award as well as the coveted Master of Architecture Thesis Award.

Susie Himel
Business Administrator

Susie attended Nicholls State University, Louisiana. She joined Hutker Architects in 2001 and is a pivotal team member responsible for the day to day office management for the Martha’s Vineyard office. Organized and conscientious, Susie also plays major roles firm-wide in contract composition, database management, award submissions, and the organization of information flow between branches. She volunteers for the Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, Sail Martha’s Vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and serves as the Secretary for Vineyard Baseball, Inc.

Harly Hutker
Senior Designer

Graduating with a Masters of Architecture from UT-Austin, Harly initially began her education at Northeastern University, earning her B.S. in Architecture and minoring in Graphic and Information Design. Her early career includes work as an urban design intern in Boston and New York, followed by her first experience at Hutker, working as an architectural designer. Over the years, Harly has honed her architectural skills, working for firms such as Stern McCafferty and Lake Flato — developing everything from schematic designs, to architectural and interior plans for both residential and commercial projects.

An avid traveler, Harly has spent time volunteering in Nepal and immersing herself in a bamboo design-build workshop in Bali, Indonesia. Other notable accolades include published work in Design Intelligence magazine and an award for leadership, service, and professional merit from NU.

Mark A. Hutker, FAIA
Partner and Founder

A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Mark Hutker received his bachelor of architecture from the University of Cincinnati. After working with longtime mentor Jon McKee at Symmes Maini & McKee Associates in Cambridge, Mark joined Dunn Brady Associates in 1985 on Martha’s Vineyard. He purchased the company three years later and has since built it into a firm of seventy professionals now serving the communities of Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and greater New England.

Mark has served on numerous charitable boards including Island Elderly Housing, Northeastern University’s School of Architecture, and at Falmouth Academy, where he was Chair of the Facilities Committee, leading the development of a 10-point master plan over the last decade. The process included programming, design, consensus building, approvals, fundraising and construction, addressing issues from public safety and circulation to landscape beautification and the creation of an athletic stadium, all school meeting room, outdoor learning room, and a new performing arts center.

Particularly dedicated to supporting design education, Mark is a co-founder and board member of the Lyceum Fellowship, which awards international travel grants to college students pursuing architecture, and a Cabinet member for the Leaders of Design Council. Mark writes and lectures widely; recent engagements include the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Design Intelligence, AIA Custom Residential Architects Network, Residential Architect, and the Architectural Digest Home Show.

Sarah Ives
Senior Interior Designer

Sarah Ives received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and her Master of Interior Architecture from the New England School of Art and Design. With a diverse background in both three-dimensional and graphic design, Sarah brings both conceptual understanding and detailed follow-through to her work.  She is an energetic designer who strives to create memorable spaces, drawing inspiration from her love of the outdoors.

Megan Jewell
Designer

A graduate of Mount Ida College in Newton, Megan has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design. Her project management and fieldwork experience has spanned both Cape Cod and Boston, first as a design intern and drafter and now, as an architectural Designer II. From large institutional spaces of over 20,000 square feet, to small-scale renovations, Megan is able to assist in the punchlists and production of multiple projects. Her software experience, coupled with her rendering and presentation skills, make her a valuable asset to our team. A Vermont native, she enjoys skiing and hiking with her dog, Burton.

Liam Johnson
Designer

Liam holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural College and an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University. He is a Massachusetts native who comes to Hutker Architects with a background in residential design and construction, specifically shingle style architecture. He has a strong interest in the notion that architecture serves as a communicative language and finds enjoyment in navigating the balance between the poetic and the practice. He is seasoned draftsperson, with an emphasis on 3D modeling, and enjoys the problem-solving aspects of design.

Jessica Kelly, AIA
Designer, LEED AP ND

With a Bachelor of Architecture and minor in Real Estate from Syracuse University and a breadth of knowledge in many facets of the industry, Jessica joins Hutker with progressive commercial experience and a penchant for residential design. With work that transcends construction types and project scale, she brings a great attention to detail and open collaboration and commitment to project teams. In addition to her knowledge of drawing documents, presentations and zoning studies, Jessica is well-versed in construction administration and model fabrication.

Anthony Kho
Senior Interior Designer

Anthony joined Hutker Architects with a Master of Art in Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and comprehensive involvement in the planning, designing, and construction of interior buildings. Anthony’s design background includes a range of projects in residential, hospitality and retail sectors, allowing him a full understanding of the ways in which the built environment has an impact on how people experience different places.

Brittany Knowlton
Designer

Brittany earned a Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Her technical precision along with her creative thinking aligned perfectly to pursue a career in architecture, granting her the opportunity to balance the two qualities to produce functional and aesthetic works of art. Brittany’s commitment to intentional design and attention to the influence of place and family narratives propel HA’s mission to develop functional and dynamic spaces for our clients.

In addition to bringing her expertise in 3D modeling and rendering to the firm, Brittany continues to advance her artistic and creative talents through a range of mediums, including watercolor, printmaking, drawing and studying classical guitar.

Megan Langlois
Interior Design Assistant

With a strong passion for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces, Megan joins Hutker with a Bachelor’s in Interior Design and a solid foundation of design principles, spatial planning, and materials selection. Through her work as a junior designer, Megan has honed her collaborative, time management, and communication skills while learning to pivot in quick-moving environments. She enjoys staying ahead of industry standards, introducing progressive design styles, materials, and sustainability practices in her work.

Jake Lefeber
Designer

Jake Lefeber earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. Jake brings experience in property management and multi-family housing to his projects, where his proficiency across digital drafting software makes him an integral team member. As an experienced sailor, he connects naturally with a coastal sense of place.

Carol Ann Livingstone
Designer

Carol Ann Livingstone earned her bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Maine, and her Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. A seasoned designer with broad experience in project management, digital creation, and construction documentation, Carol Ann brings a wealth of experience and organization skills to each of her projects. She is also a skilled writer and musician

Olivia Martin
Interior Designer

Olivia Martin earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the American University of Rome and her Master of Interior Architecture from Suffolk University. With her diverse educational and professional background, Olivia brings fresh perspective and creativity to her team. Olivia completed an internship with Hutker Architects during her undergrad study before joining the team full time in 2020.

Ronan McCabe
Designer

With a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University, and an interest in sustainable construction, Ronan has joined the Hutker team with a myriad of technical skills, including physical model-making and detailing, hand-drafting and design. Extracurricular activities include social media work for the American Institute of Architecture Students and a variety of volunteer service opportunities and intramural sports.

Hailey McCorkell
Interior Design Assistant

A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Hailey holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. While in school, Hailey gained experience working as both an interiors and architectural intern before taking on a role as a designer, sourcing materials, drafting floor plans, and putting together visuals. Hailey is well-versed in physical models, hand drafting, sketching, measuring , and material boards. Her software aptitude complements her design skills. When she is not working, she enjoys cooking, floral arranging, and Red Sox games.

Scott McCullough, AIA
Associate

Scott McCullough received his bachelor of science and master of architecture from Norwich University. A project manager with experience in commercial, institutional, and residential design, he brings attention to detail and a spirit of collaboration to all of his work. Scott values architecture that inspires thought while respecting the natural world. He has earned accreditation through both LEED and ENERGY STAR and, notably, recently designed and built his own net-zero energy home.

Thomas McNeill, AIA
Partner

Thomas is a registered architect and Partner at Hutker Architects, where his passion for creativity and innovation fuels his work. A recipient of the prestigious 2019 “5 under 40” award, Thomas’s designs has been featured by renowned publications such as Architectural Digest, Ocean Home, Coastal Living, Builder Magazine, New England Home, and Luxe Magazine. His work is celebrated for advancing the art of dwelling, creating spaces that are not only functional but profoundly meaningful.

In 2020, Thomas founded the South Shore studio of Hutker Architects, which has thrived under his leadership. His forward-thinking approach to architecture focuses on evolving how dwellings interact with and enhance the human experience.

Thomas is the co-founder of the Ontic Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to evolving dwellings to promote well-being and positively impact the human body. This initiative reflects his commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional architecture to improve lives.

In addition to his work with the Ontic Initiative, Thomas has served on the Lyceum Fellowship Board of Directors since 2021. Through this prestigious traveling scholarship program, he helps shape the next generation of architects by providing students with opportunities to explore the world and deepen their design perspectives through travel.

Currently registered in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and holding NCARB certification, Thomas brings his expertise and creative vision to projects nationwide. His enthusiasm for human-centered, innovative design, along with his progressive vision for architecture, defines both his work and leadership.

Morgan Miller
Interior Designer

Morgan Miller earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Radford University. With a diverse interiors background that includes spatial planning and client service as well as product selection and construction documents, Morgan’s organization skills and can-do attitude make her an integral part of the team.

Casey Noonan
Accountant

Casey joins Hutker Architects with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University and robust experience in business and accounting operations. Her portfolio, including a world-renowned public accounting firm and a major public company, has provided her with the necessary skillset and results-driven attitude that will elevate Hutker Architects’ business administration team.

Kelly O’Hara
Office Administrator

Kelly joins Hutker Architects with strong customer service and exceptional guest relations experience. With a background in hospitality and office management, Kelly lends her organizational abilities to the daily operations of the firm, ensuring a supportive environment for all levels of colleagues, management, clients, and trade professionals.

Kelly moved to the Vineyard in 2016, spending time in the hospitality industry before transitioning to her role at Hutker. The Island’s artistic culture and celebration of artisan fairs and markets have inspired her creativity.

Oliver Orwig, AIA
Associate

Oliver received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami, studying art, architecture, and history both state-side and abroad. His European travels gave him the opportunity to work on various design projects including a Renaissance villa, a history museum, and a bell tower. Following his academic endeavors, Oliver has gained experience working across a variety of market sectors for award-winning architecture firms in the Greater Boston Area.

As a south shore native, Oliver joined the Kingston Local Historic District Committee where he serves as a local board member to explore the creation of a local historic commission for the town.

Graham Parks
Designer

Following a successful academic career that earned him a Bachelor of Architecture at Virginia Tech, Graham begins his professional career with Hutker Architects. His passion for architecture and his design proficiency is an important asset to the HA team.

Outside of the studio, Graham stays inspired by mastering other crafts, including photography, watercolor, and woodworking.

Deepa Parthasarathy
Associate

Deepa Parthasarathy received her bachelor of architecture from the National Institute of Technology in Maharashtra, India, and her master of architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Deepa has more than a decade of experience in architectural design and is skilled at many facets of residential projects – from floor plans and visualization models to construction documentation and project administration. Deepa consistently demonstrates a strong ability to analyze problems and develop solutions to any challenge that arises during a project, immensely contributing to the technical development of the firm and taking the initiative to research new products and materials that have a positive impact on the homes that Hutker Architects produces for our clients. Based on these accomplishments, Deepa received the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) PRISM award for Most Valuable Team Member in 2021.

Cory Pereira, AIA
Senior Designer

Cory brings over 9 years of experience across all market sectors upon joining the HA team. With a Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University and a Master of Architecture from California’s Academy of Art University, Cory excels at managing multiple projects while maintaining a record of the highest customer satisfaction.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Cory has used his knowledge and expertise to benefit community outreach projects, including the expansion of the M4 Reactor Makers Space on the shore of Maryland.

Danielle Raciti
Digital Arts & Media Coordinator

Danielle received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications Media, Journalism, and Literature from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. She joined the Hutker team with over 15 years of publishing and writing experience, primarily for lifestyle magazines throughout the region, including Southern New England Home and Southern New England Living. Many years working as an editor has given Danielle the organizational skills and attention to detail required to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working collaboratively with different departments, colleagues, and clients. In this role, she assists with the management of the HA brand, as well as print and digital marketing initiatives. She has become an integral part of the company’s social presence and brings a fresh voice to Hutker’s story.

Phil Regan
Partner

A Martha’s Vineyard native, Phil Regan received his bachelor of architecture from the University of Miami before returning to the Island in 1988 to begin a three-year professional internship with Dunn Brady Architects (now named Hutker Architects). By 1991, his local knowledge in both architectural vernacular and construction techniques led him to a stay with the growing company, advancing through leadership roles and achieving Managing Principal of Hutker Architects’ Martha’s Vineyard office in 2004, where he continues to lead design teams on the creation of award-winning custom residential projects both on- and off the Island.

In the community, Phil has served on the board of the Sherriff’s Meadow Foundation since 2011, and is a founding member of The Cottage City Historic District Commission where he has been an acting commissioner since 2003. He was appointed to the board of directors for the new MV Museum in 2017. Phil has been an active advocate for youth sports on the island since 1998, coaching baseball at the high school level, as well as with the Martha’s Vineyard Little League, Babe Ruth and MV travel baseball programs. He also coached MV travel basketball and spent several years with both the football and basketball programs at the Boys and Girls Club.

Phil has often combined his professional expertise with his community efforts, acting as a design consultant and fundraising champion in the creation of both the “Shark Tank” (2007) and “Penn Field” (2015). Both projects have become Island landmarks within the baseball community.

Phil lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Debbie, a native islander as well, and their three children.

Mary Rogers
Chief Executive Officer

Mary joins Hutker Architects as Chief Executive Officer, a pivotal position in moving the firm forward on a myriad of levels. With a Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, she has over 30 years of financial experience and strategic business acumen, both of which contribute greatly to the mission and evolution of our firm.

Most notably, Mary served as the CFO/COO for New England Business Media. She was responsible for all operation, administrative and financial aspects of the organization, working with ownership to focus on revenue growth, new development, and key staffing. Other priorities in this role included the development and implementation of financial indicators and projections, establishing cross divisional teams, and incorporating significant cost-saving measures while simultaneously driving productivity. Prior to this position, Mary spent eight years as the finance director and controller for a full-service advertising agency. This role provided her with significant management experience, in billing, accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting, and human services.

With a strong understanding of how to build effective teams, direct leadership and define constructive conversation, Mary has worked in close contact with investor and public relations and served as a liaison between internal and external departments. Hands-on and action oriented, Mary brings strong leadership, process improvement, and expansion strategies to our growing firm.

Amy Rogers, AIA
Designer, LEED AP BD+C

With both a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from Tulane University, Amy joined Hutker with comprehensive architectural experience, ranging from architectural design through to construction, proposal preparation, and advanced client communications. She has a keen eye for business development and creating design on all scales — from multi-building commercial work to bespoke residential projects. With graphic fluency and a focus and desire for fine art, Amy has been involved with the Boston Society for the Arts and assisted for years as a Habitat for Humanity volunteer in New Orleans, working alongside the community to rebuild after Katrina. Amy is proficient in a variety of design software, including Revit, SketchUp, AutoCad and VRay.

Eder Romero
Senior Designer

Eder Romero received his bachelor of architecture from the Universidad de San Pedro Sula and his master of interior architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. A licensed architect in his native Honduras, Eder has managed the conceptual design process through construction of many projects ranging from residential, to commercial and production facilities. He is adept at the development of CAD design and construction plans, as well as 3D models and renderings, and has a background in topics of Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse.

Elizabeth Sammartino
Senior Designer

A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Elizabeth has experience working in high-end, modern residential design and has a passion for precision and artistry when working on every detail of a project. Accustomed to wearing many hats, Elizabeth has been involved in everything from concept designing, compiling construction sets, coordinating with consultants, and carrying projects through CA while on site. In her design work, she enjoys the challenge of holding true to an original design intent while simultaneously working through various technical aspects. Able to balance creativity with practicality, Elizabeth has keen design sensibilities and unique perspectives that prove valuable to both our team and to our clients.

Jean Sampson
Controller

Jean joins Hutker having successfully managed all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis in her tenure as a controller and financial operations associate for both large and small, privately-held companies. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting and business management from Bridgewater State University, beginning her career in law and advertising firms. Adept at guiding organizational growth through effective financial strategies and management, Jean understands operational inefficiencies and risks, as well as improving internal controls, standards, and procedures. Jean brings a strong ability to collaborate and work effectively within teams, and offers a welcomed out-of-the-box approach to her work.

Stacey Sarber
Senior Interior Designer

Stacey Sarber received her bachelor of fine arts from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and her master of arts from the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University. With experience in various aspects of project management – from technical drawing to vendor and client correspondence, Stacey brings strong organizational skills and a sense of visual order to her design work.

Vivian Scherer
Senior Designer

Vivian received her Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, subsequently gaining experience in typography, editorial design, and creative development and merchandising for prominent retailers such as Nike and Williams Sonoma. Her collaborative approach led teams to develop brand and space identities, guide construction teams and fabricators, and oversee budget and vendor resources for multiple projects. Vivian joined Hutker after many years in senior project management for a variety of New York architects, working in tandem with building and construction crews to refine the design and bid process for private residences. In addition to her work in brand identity, procurement, and fulfillment, she also enjoys black and white photography and hand sketching and drafting.

Matt Schiffer, AIA
Principal

Matt earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the Boston Architectural Center.

His career began more than 30 years ago, working with his father Joseph J. Schiffer AIA. Before joining Hutker Architects in 2001, Matt worked for several well-known architecture firms in the Boston area, where he gained considerable experience designing for commercial, religious, hospitality, and educational spaces. He designs houses with an eye for beauty and an understanding of the way details, large and small, work together to create meaningful spaces for clients. Matt’s passion for hand rendering is matched with exceptional talent. His architectural drawings, many of which have been published in books and national magazines, are an emblem for the finely detailed custom work with which the firm is associated.

Matt has taken post-graduate courses in landscape design, photography and art history at the Massachusetts College of Art and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. In the community, he has volunteered his time with the Cape Cod Modern House Trust, Habitat for Humanity, and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. A coach for youth soccer in local and travel teams, Matt is also an avid power boater, fisherman, road- and mountain biker, and has recently taken up Laser racing.

Kevin Schreur
Associate

Kevin received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Since joining Hutker Architects in 2003, he has worked on a diverse range of projects including several nationally recognized residences. Kevin is a focused designer with a highly-developed skill set in construction detailing and technical writing. These attributes, combined with Kevin’s ability to analyze and critique structural systems, have been pivotal in advancing some of the firm’s most innovative work. An able problem solver, Kevin is known for examining projects holistically, and distilling appropriate solutions in details large and small. He is also a great writer and collector of mid-century modern furnishings.

Tom Shockey
Senior Associate

Tom received his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech with a minor in Environmental Policy and Planning. Prior to joining Hutker Architects in 2010, Tom interned with three diverse architecture firms and was part of the design/build team for an innovative solar concept house which received multiple international design awards including an AIA Presidential Award. Skilled in AutoCAD, digital and hand model making, he is an idea-based designer currently responsible for both project coordination and construction administration. Tom also shares his creativity outside of the office and recently designed a chicken coop made entirely from recycled materials collected at job sites. The successful model garnered two similar commissions.

Audrey Snare
Senior Designer

After receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University, Audrey started her career as an architectural designer in the Greater Boston area and then Jackson, WY before joining the HA team on Martha’s Vineyard. With more than 10 years of experience specializing in custom high-end residential homes, Audrey applies her unmatched enthusiasm for design and varied experience in interior and exterior architecture to each project. Audrey’s experience in project management and client relations, and her passion for the firm’s internal growth, has honed her skills as a leader and collaborator, qualities that contributed to her recognition from the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) PRISM awards program as a 2021 Rising Star of the Year. In addition to these design accomplishments, Audrey also shares her energy and talents with the local island community, having made significant contributions to HA’s work with Habitat for Humanity. You can find Audrey outdoors on the weekend exploring the island both on land and on the water with her dog Addy.

Sarah Soltes
Designer

Sarah Soltes earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees, both in architecture, from Northeastern University. A certified LEED Green Associate, Sarah has strong drawing and graphic modeling skills as well as experience with both residential and urban, high-rise scaled projects.

Ally Stecich
Office Administrator

Equipped with a degree in Business Administration from Cape Cod Community College, Ally brings deep knowledge and passion for organization, efficiency, and design to her role as Office Administrator. Her positivity and energy extend a warm welcome to guests visiting the office, as well as the disposition to lend a helping hand of support to the Hutker team.

Jaifer Sultan
Designer

Jaifer brings a West Asian influence to his work as a designer, having had both residential and commercial architectural experience, influenced by the city of Muscat, Oman. From cafes to villas, Jaifer has had a hand in several projects, attending site visits and understanding strong architect-contractor relationships. Proficient in AutoCad, Rhino3D, SketchUp, and several Adobe post-production softwares, Jaifer aims to develop his leadership skills, project organization, and management experience while at Hutker. Fluent in English and Arabic, Jaifer earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and is currently an AIA New York State Student Director — a representative for the architectural student body of New York.

Nancy Swensson
Executive Assistant to Mark Hutker

Nancy received her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University. Nancy joined Hutker Architects in 2011, and serves in a critical role as executive assistant to Mark Hutker. From schedule organization and meeting coordination to researching and preparing presentations, she is highly skilled at prioritizing, multitasking, and communicating effectively. Before joining Hutker Architects, Nancy held a position as Executive Assistant to the President and COO of a design/build firm and was responsible for coordinating project permits.

Janelle Tapp
Senior Accountant

Janelle received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from UMASS Dartmouth, with a minor in Finance. She joins the Hutker team with a strong financial acumen and experience in account management, business finance, and investment analysis. With strong communication and organizational skills, Janelle is a valuable addition to the business administration office.

Aaron Teves
Designer

Aaron Teves received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, where his coursework focused on Nature-Culture-Sustainability studies. An interest in printmaking and photography brings Aaron a nuanced understanding of material ethics and the importance of expressing space in three-dimensional productions. Along with this studies and travels at RISD, participating in programs such as the 2019 Artist Residency in Rome (European Honors Program) and a Portugal research trip focusing on sustainable building practices and materials, his worldly curiosity sent him to Seoul, South Korea for an Architectural History and Culture course on house and home. These influences continue to materialize throughout his design work, expanding the output of his team.

Aaron’s design work has been recognized with a Henry Adams Medal from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA). As a Martha’s Vineyard native, born and raised on the Island, Aaron is attuned to the history and culture of the Island. His understanding of context throughout the design process is integral to the Hutker Architects team.

Greg Whiting, AIA
Designer

Greg Whiting received his Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech. A skilled draftsman with an interest in the experiential aspects of spatial design, Greg excels at on-site analysis and technical documentation. Experience in both plastics machinery and residential carpentry bring a three-dimensional understanding to Greg’s design work.

Marissa Wolinsky
Interior Designer

Marissa earned her Bachelor of Art in Interior Design from Suffolk University. With prior experience specializing in kitchen and bath design, Marissa has a penchant for product specification and a sense of all of the nuts and bolts that need to come together to make a project a success. Marissa’s positive attitude and attention to detail make her a valued team member.
