We are proud to share that partner Jim Cappuccino, AIA, was invited to serve as an out-of-state juror for the 2025 AIA Santa Fe Awards + Honors program. This peer-recognized role reflects Jim’s respected voice in site-responsive design and his commitment to architectural excellence.
Jim joined Hutker Architects in 2005 and became a partner in 2018. Over the course of his two decades with the firm, he has helped shape a portfolio of work defined by thoughtful craft, contextual sensitivity, and a deep appreciation for place. His invitation to participate in the Santa Fe jury underscores these values and acknowledges the perspective he brings from designing in ecologically and culturally rich environments.
The AIA Awards + Honors juries are tasked with upholding some of the most rigorous standards in the profession. Jurors evaluate submissions not in competition with one another, but against criteria that celebrate design achievement, purpose, and context. They bring an openness to diverse philosophies and encourage solutions that advance the discipline.
In his role, Jim contributed to confidential reviews and deliberations alongside a panel of distinguished peers, offering constructive feedback and helping identify work that exemplifies architecture’s potential to enrich communities.
“It’s inspiring to see how architects across different regions are responding to their landscapes and communities,” Jim shared following the event. “Serving on the jury offered a meaningful exchange of ideas and reinforced how design can elevate the human experience, wherever we practice.”
We congratulate Jim on this honor and thank AIA Santa Fe for recognizing the deep expertise and thoughtful leadership he brings to the field.
