This summer beach house was designed for a family with three children. The plan includes large gathering spaces inside and out, as well as smaller spaces for quiet and relaxation. The hub of the home is a vaulted living space which combines dining, sitting, and music spaces in one central open pavilion. Large windows invite nature into nearly every room, from a wall of sliding windows connecting the kitchen to an herb garden to the master bedroom, which opens fully on one side to a screen porch balcony. Driftwood tones and barn-like details on the interior marry the naturally-weathering cedar façade, giving this home a relaxed elegance that welcomes visitors from the beach beyond.
