Located in a historic neighborhood with a commanding ocean view, “Big Bluff” was a beloved community fixture which succumbed to years of storms and deferred upkeep. Hutker Architects was charged with designing a new home in its place – to honor the character of the original, while adding gracious spaces for modern living and entertaining. Traditional materials, installed with modern techniques, are poised to shoulder generations of wind and weather. Wherever possible, fixtures and furnishings from the previous house were reused. Millwork and built-ins crafted by local artisans maintain a handmade feel throughout the house, while custom furnishings and curated antiques offer the feel of a space that has been loved by a family for years.
