This jewel box home overlooking Katama Bay was conceived as a hybrid; one that bridges the space between traditional and contemporary island architecture. Flanking the main entry, a single gabled structure made prominent in white painted clapboard, are flat roof offsets clad in natural cedar that connect the home’s main living spaces with master and guest suites on the north and south. Simplified language allows both motifs to speak clearly to one another, while deferring the site’s incredible water views.
